The way the world is, it is so easy to dwell upon the things around us. It can be rising prices, insecurity, health problems, natural disasters, wars, relationships, anything. If I ask you to make a list of all the problems you see in the world you would take all day to finish it. There is so much trouble. So many negative things that we can dwell on. And we should think of these things, we should be praying about these things. But should we be dwelling on them? Should we be living in them? Should be directing our attention to them? Should we remain in them? Should we constantly be talking about them?

8Finally brothers, whatever is true,  whatever is honorable,  whatever is just,  whatever is pure,  whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable — if there is any moral excellence  and if there is any praise — dwell on these things. Philippians 4:8

Paul clearly tells us what we should be dwelling on. Where we should be living. We should be focused on these thing. Give your time and your attention to these things. The things that are true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, of moral excellence, worthy of praise. These things, the things of God, this is where we are to dwell. Now, imagine I asked you to write a list of these things, how long would it take you to finish?

In short, let us refocus, let’s reevaluate where we are dwelling. If you are in the wrong place (as I often am), how can you redirect your attention to the things God calls us to dwell upon?

  1. Oh, Tessa! Spot on! What a beautiful admonition that went straight to my heart!  Our Holy God is to be the center of our focus and our deepest source of nourishment. He is the Vine, and I am often guilty of thinking I can do it without Him.  Jeremiah 2:13    [13] for my people have committed two evils:    they have forsaken me,        the fountain of living waters,    and hewed out cisterns for themselves,        broken cisterns that can hold no water. John 15:5[5] I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.  Believers are The Body… our dwelling place! May it be true! May we turn continually and abide/dwell, be present with You, Oh Lord. May we be bearers of your fruit and be wholly Yours!Let us lift our concerns up to You and then Praise You… Colossians 2:6-10Alive in Christ[6] Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, [7] rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. [8] See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ. [9] For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, [10] and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority. Soli Deo Gloria,Deb Sent from Yahoo Mail for iPhone
